What can you expect at one of our Sunday services?

  • Church means gathering and so gathering is what OEC is all about. Orange Evangelical Church has four congregations that meet every Sunday, and many other groups that meet throughout the week. If you come along to any of these gatherings you can expect to find everyday people of every age enjoying one another’s company, and encouraging each other in their Christian life.

  • The Bible is the basis of everything we do and so at OEC you can expect to hear the Bible read and explained to people who are keen to learn. We also respond to God in prayer thanking him and asking him for the help and strength we need to trust and obey him.

  • Another thing that you can expect at OEC is lots of families with children— as a result we work hard at catering for families with kids with things like Creche, ‘Kids Talks’ and ‘Kids Church.’

We believe:

Our history

Orange Evangelical Church (OEC) commenced meeting on the 14th September 1995 with approximately fifty members. OEC was begun by local people as an independent church committed to the Bible as its foundation for what we believe and how we live.

  • The word evangelical means Bible-based and Gospel-centred. OEC has been, and will always be committed to teaching and declaring God’s word, and telling people the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that Jesus gave our church its purpose when he commanded his disciples to go and make disciples. OEC’s mission statement is ‘Making Disciples of Jesus’ — God’s people taking God’s message with God’s help to Orange and beyond. Every ministry that we undertake is directed toward the purpose of helping people to believe in and follow Jesus Christ.

  • OEC is as an independent church which has developed strong links with other Christian organisations. We support and work with Western Plains Christian Convention; AFES (Australian Fellowship of Evangelical students); MTS (Ministry Training Strategy) and FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

What is Christianity?

The message at the heart of Christianity is pretty simple. Watch this three-minute video to find out what it's all about.
